After much discussion during this year's Council meeting we have decided on a few changes that will be implemented starting with the 2025/2026 season.
Benched players will now be locked after game start
Over the last few years we've noticed some people taking advantage of this to get a jump on waivers. Players were originally left unlocked to help people navigate injuries, but we decided that we needed to change it to stop people from misusing it.
Active players left in IR at game start may result in punishments such as those players being forcibly dropped, as will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
While it's understood that mistakes happen and sometimes late injury reports get missed, we had some issues last year with people (Stefan) intentionally leaving active players on IR. We're not putting a specific rule into place to allow for the honest mistake to happen, but just do everyone a favor and keep an eye on injury stuff so we're not forced to do anything.
Dropped players will now be on waives for 1 day (previously 2)
With the NFL continually giving us games on 4-5 different days it becomes difficult sometimes to maneuver free agency with a 2 day waiver period so we're going to try 1 day waivers to help people adjust for the fact that games are so spread out during the week nowadays.
These changes will be updated into the league's constitution shortly.
